Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California once again hosts the AMA Supercross season opener. Tune into SPEED Channel on Saturday January 9 at 10:00pm for the network broadcast of the race.The race will be broadcast live as part of a motosports bonanza on SPEED Channel- starting at 7:00PM EST with Monster Jam, then rolling into coverage for the Monster Energy SX race at 10.
This year, Supercrossonline.com is offering a subscription allowing members to watch every race live online. The $39.99 fee includes a live feed of the race starting at 7:00pm (local time) on race day, commentary from long-time announcers Jason Weigandt and Jim Holley, and access to archived race video throughout the season. Subscribers will also have access to the opening round press conference broadcast live on Thursday Jan. 7 at 3:00pm (EST).
Last year’s premier race proved to be a shake up for defending champions Chad Reed (’08) and James Stewart (’07). After Stewart scored the holeshot, he and Reed battled it out with newcomer Josh Grant staying close behind. In lap six, Stewart and Reed tangled, downing both riders. Stewart reentered the track directly into the path of Kevin Windham and was unable to restart his bike. Grant seized the opportunity to take the lead, with Reed finishing third.

The weather on Saturday couldn't have been better for Seven Springs' opening weekend event! Sponsored by Rome Snowboards, Premature Jibulation hosted just under 150 riders. Spectators were treated to free hot dogs and entertainment by DJ Zimmie. The Terrain Park at Springs has been named #1 for Pipes and #3 in Parks and East Coast Resorts by Transworld Snowboarding.
First place was taken by Danny Vogel. Jeremy Anderson followed in second, while Jordan Soohy came in third. Leading the women riders was Christina Myal. Nearly two dozen riders turned out to enjoy a great day of riding at Pittsburgh Racweay Park today. What started out as a pretty dismal day turned to clear skies and sun by noon.
